Chew Lips was the first band I saw in the UK. Great way to start my British music experience!! They played at the Jericho, which apparently is one of the first places Radiohead played. There’s a mural on one of the walls to prove it. They were really good and I think later that week their album came out. I haven’t stopped listening to “Karen” since! I think they’ve played SXSW since then, so hopefully they come to LA soon.

So I haven’t written on here in ages. England has come and gone and I’m really depressed about it. I left Oxford at seven in the morning on Saturday, took a cab to Heathrow, and took an eleven hour flight back to Los Angeles. I got a little teary eyed when I said bye to my friend. Not really cuz I’ll miss her but more cuz I’ll miss Oxford so much. Right now, I can see myself living there, despite the awkward encounters with people I would rather not see and people telling people you’re avoiding where you are. I swear there’s like no personal space. But even with that, I fell in love with Oxford and I didn’t want to leave. I guess I’ll post memorable experiences on here. Boys, friends, frenemies, enemies, weirdos, you know the usual.

I bought my plane ticket for London today.
It’s making everything seem more real now.
When I was paying for it, Oasis started playing in the background. That can only be a good sign!

The Kinks

I am so in love with the Kinks right now. So so so good.

This morning, I found out the Maccabees are playing the NME Awards Tour in February! (If I’m in England,) I am so there! This has to happen! Like it really NEEDS to happen!
I missed the chance of seeing them two years ago in L.A. because the friend I wanted to go with thought I said Mumm-ra instead of the Maccabees (because they totally sound the same)!

Fingers crossed I’ll be in London come February 20th!

Oxford might not happen after all. Apparently to get in as a student visitor, you must have a certain number in your bank account. Poor college student that I am, I probably don’t have enough! I need to try to get more money from my school or get a student loan. My dreams are being crushed and it hurts so much.

This is so overused but FUCK MY LIFE.

Yo. Long time no type.

Junior Year of college is too much work and not enough time. I don’t think I’ve lost this much sleep in my entire life.

My days are school, work, school, work with some coffee breaks in between. I’m biting my tongue at saying I wanted to come back to school during the summer. Maybe next summer I should just hibernate.

In other, more exciting news, I got accepted to the Oxford Study Abroad Program I applied too! If I had gotten sleep the night before I found out, I would have jumped for joy. Needless to say, I only had the energy to smile from ear to ear.

Now my immediate goals are: pass my Biology class (or withdraw from it), get the beautiful new Canon G11 (as Best Buy wanted to charge me close to two hundred dollars to fix my old one), have enough money to go to however many gigs I want in England, and have enough money to travel. Greece and Egypt I have my heart set on you and Paris and Rome I miss you!

In a few months this blog is actually going to be interesting! I can’t wait!!!

P.S. I think I’m getting flu-like symptoms again. You’d think I would develop some sort of immunity by now.

I’m not going to get my hopes up…

… but my mom got her tax returns and she’s willing to give me some of the money to go abroad. My friend’s aunt happens to live in Cambridge and we were planning (what if planning, not for sure planning) to visit her in August. It’d be so boss if we actually went!! But I’m not going to get too excited because if nothing happens I’ll get sad. But still, there’s a slight possibility.
