Ya Heard?

Better Late than Never

Today, I might have been the happiest I’ve been all summer.

I went to the DMV (such a lovely place, NOT) to take the written test for my driver’s license. Two and a half hours later … SUCCESS. I PASSED. I was so sure I was going to fail, I just wanted to hand the paper over and get out of there already, but I passed. I informed  everyone that had ever driven with me (in a golf cart or automobile) of this monumental occasion, even one in Ireland. Now, I just need to practice for the driving test and don’t have to panic about driving next to a cop. I will be asking everyone I know with a car to let me practice, but I’m pretty sure only two people (the ones who have let me drive illegally) will let me.

I’m so ecstatic. I’m one step closer to the Beetle I want! I have even been brainstorming what I’m going to name it. I contemplated one of the Beatles’ names. I’m a dork, I know.

P.S. If you have to go to the DMV make an appointment before because the lines are ridiculous. I’m so happy I did. Those two and a half hours might have had a few more added to them!

(500) Days of Summer

I went to see (500) Days of Summer with my friends yesterday. It was such a cute movie. I thought it would have been more uplifting but still. The depressing bits were made so much better by the music. Some of my favorite songs were on the soundtrack. There was The Smiths’ “There is a Light that Never Goes Out”, Jack Penate’s “Have I Been A Fool”, Carla Bruni’s “Quelqu’un m’a dit”, and last but certainly not least, Mumm-ra’s “She’s Got You High”. It made me so happy to hear Mumm-ra again since they broke up a while back. At least they’re getting the attention they deserved.  Miss you Mumm-ra. (Get back together please!)

P.S. I liked (500) Days more than Funny People, which we saw right after. Four hours at the movie theater can be exhausting.
